As a capital campaign committee member, he helped launch the Bettie Allard YMCA in Coquitlam, and he has served on numerous boards, including the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia and the Rotary Club of Vancouver, and coached youth soccer for many seasons.

His impact has been recognized at the highest levels of the profession. Bill was named a Fellow of CPA BC in 2006 and received CPA BC’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2024.
