Carol A. Paradine  FCPA, FCA
Chief Executive Officer, Canadian Public Accountability Board (CPAB)
Carol has been the Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Public Accountability Board (CPAB) since 2018 and represents Canada on the board of the International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators. Carol’s previous experience includes roles as an audit partner in a major international firm and as a member of the Canadian firm’s board of directors. She has also acted as chief financial officer of the Canadian audit firm and corporate controller of a publicly listed technology company. Community service is equally important to Carol who currently serves as Chair of the board of directors of the Alzheimer Society of Toronto. 

Previous roles include member, Audit and Assurance Standards Oversight Council, chair, Manitoba Chambers of Commerce, president, Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, board and audit committee member, Alzheimer Society of Canada, board and audit committee member, CentrePort Canada, board and finance committee member, YMCA-YWCA National Capital Region, board member, Innovate Manitoba, board member, Harmony House and advisory board member, Carleton University School of Business. She also coached youth soccer for many years and was a lecturer and coach at Carleton University. Carol holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Carleton University and is a fellow chartered professional accountant.

Heidi Scorgie, CPA, CA
Regional Vice President, West, Canadian Public Accountability Board (CPAB)
Heidi Scorgie joined CPAB in September 2020 as the Regional Vice President, Western Canada. Prior to CPAB, Heidi was a partner at a global accounting firm, where she led audits of public companies and was the professional practice director for the British Columbia and Alberta regions. Heidi leads CPAB’s Western Canada inspections team and focuses on building relationships with key regional stakeholders in BC and Alberta,
including other regulators, audit committee chairs and directors of regional reporting issuers, to advance their understanding of the importance of audit quality and CPAB’s regulatory role. A passionate supporter of children and their families with congenital heart conditions, as well as saving wildlife species from extinction, Heidi serves as a board member for the Children’s Heart Network and Wildlife Preservation Canada.
Anita Cyr, CPA, CA
Chief AccountantBritish Columbia Securities Commission (BCSC)
Anita Cyr is the Chief Accountant at the British Columbia Securities Commission (BCSC), providing accounting expertise on financial information required by market participants and monitoring developments in national and international accounting standards, auditing standards, auditor oversight, and sustainability standards. She also liaises with professional accounting bodies and standard setters, and communicates with issuers and their advisors in matters related to financial reporting requirements.

Anita works on various CSA policy initiatives, including the Climate-Related Disclosure Project. She has also worked as the Manager of the BCSC’s Financial Reporting team as a Senior Securities Analyst in the Corporate Finance Division of the BCSC. She was at PwC prior to joining the Commission.

Larissa Streu Manager, Corporate Disclosure, Corporate Finance, British Columbia Securities Commission (BCSC) Larissa Streu is a Manager, Corporate Disclosure in the Corporate Finance Division of the British Columbia Securities Commission. She manages a team that reviews prospectuses and continuous disclosure of all BC-based issuers. She has led the CSA’s work on the listed issuer financing exemption and the rights offering exemption and has been involved in numerous other CSA policy projects related to the prospectus system. 

Before joining the BCSC in 2006, Larissa practiced securities and corporate finance law at a national law firm for six years. Larissa was called to the British Columbia bar in 2000 and holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Arts degree (Political Science) from McGill University.

Andrew Creech, CPA, CA Managing Director, TSX-V Listings, TSX Venture Exchange Andrew Creech is the Managing Director, TSX-V Listings, at the TSX Venture Exchange (the Exchange). He has primary responsibility for the Listings Department in Vancouver and is also a member of the Exchange's Executive Listings Committee. Andrew is responsible for a multidisciplinary team of professional and administrative staff, including geologists, lawyers and accountants, who are dedicated to listing quality applicants on the Exchange, and enhancing the reporting and dissemination of information from public issuers. 

Some of these duties include reviewing major transactions, coordinating new listings, and working with industry stakeholders to facilitate issuer transactions. Andrew is also a Chartered Accountant. Prior to joining the Exchange in 2004, he was in public practice at a Vancouver firm.

Erez Bahar, CPA, CA, CPA (WA) Managing Partner, Davidson & Company LLP Erez is a Davidson & Company LLP lifer, having joined the firm’s public audit practice fresh from university in 1999. Along with his CA and CPA (WA) designations, Erez holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia. Erez is ambitious and hard-working, leading his team of determined accountants by example. 

He services a broad range of industries and spent a large part of his career travelling the world for his clients.  Within the firm, Erez serves as a leader of the firm’s public audit practice, helping clients go public or maintain their public listings.  Erez’s most important job in his life is being a father to his beautiful three sons.
